I was watching Sports-Center (ESPN) yesterday. They gave a report about the India-Lebanon football match held in Goa.The reporter claimed that the match was closely contested, but the Indian team squandered a 1-0 halftime score and drew 2-2 with the visiting team. This means the team lost the two legged tie 6-3 and there ended their chance to feature in an another football World-cup.I just couldn’t stop thinking…where is Indian football headed to..

Indian crickerts create history by winning the 20-20 world cup. They made india proud !!! inturn they were loaded with prizes and offers !!! Media makes them heroes of country. BCCI offers them extra crores for beating australia in 20-20. But do they really deserve all this?? The answer may be no, just because their performance is not constant throughout. The tour of Australia in india and playing 7 one day’s out of which one match got abandened due to rains. The second and the third match india loose, but india still had the chance of drawing the series or may be even winning it. Then india wins the fourth one day, and expectations increase that india will mark the series in their name. But in the fifth one day india looses the match and so looses the series. The final match is scheduled today, but now there are no issues whether india wins or looses. Still people are crazy about the match and are ready to pay any amount for a seat in the stadium. This attitude of people make the cricketers feel that they haven’t lost anything so they even don’t bother. If today india looses today then too they will be heroes of the people.

It is a double pleasure for the Indian Sports fan. ‘TIGER FROM MADRAS’, Vishwanathan Anand, 37, was crowned world champion of chess after tying his 14th and last match of the contest in quick time with Hungarian Peter Leko on the 14th day of the contest which he dominated from start.
“I enjoy this new feeling of being world champion,” he said.
He replaced Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik. Anand secured nine points in the contest and also ended up as the only unbeaten player in the event.

When our Hockey Team overwhelm Korea by 7-2 in Asia Cup Final and won Asia cup, we didn’t arranged any procession for them. In order of rewards, BCCI announces rewards of US $2M where as IHF announces Rs.1000/- for a goal and Rs.2000/- deducted for every Goal conceded. This is what our IHF doing with players of our National Sport. As a result we are not encouraging our youth towards other sports like CHESS, HOCKEY, FOOTBALL , ATHLETICS, etc.

For once words stop functioning for me. it wouldn’t be a hyperbole if I say that I was an ecstatic while watching T20 World-Cup Tournament.
“India wins the Twenty20 World Cup beating arch-rival Pakistan in an absolute thriller…” “…beat Australia, South Africa” “..a complete team effort” “…show of nerve” “…clinched victory from the jaws of defeat“
These are the words by commentators in the journey for the Golden moment which came after 24 years.
