Globe Trekker: Introduction »

Global Trekker

So, I decided that I will share my experiences about all the places I have visited in India as well as all over the world with rest of the Oxygyan community in a series labelled “Globe Trekker“.

Shootout At Lokhandwala Movie Review »

POster of Shootout At Lokhandwala After bringing about a strange (but entertaining) combination of cuteness of a little girl and hardcore violence in Ek Ajnabee, it is not surprising to see Apoorva Lakhia making one of the most violent movies till date–SAL.

But this time the motive of the director is not only to entertain but a social message as well. The movie very well and rightly justifies the 1991 encounter of the ace criminal Maya Dolas and gang in a civilian area in presence of 112 civilians without any official order to kill.

Sanjay Dutt, as in every Sanjay Gupta movie is excellent playing the responsible “killing” cop. His subordinates Suniel Shetty and Arbaaz Khan have performed quite well. But the striking feature of the movie is Vivek Oberoi playing the “bad man” for the first time. Vivek has given the best negative performance of the year.

Nishabd Movie Review »

Nishabd Poster The only thought I had in mind after seeing the movie was that none other than RGV can make Nishabd. Based on a controversial Bengali novel Aparajita (not sure) Nishabd is a love story of a man and his daughter’s best friend.

Let me tell you Nishabd is not a movie to be watched with friends after your last exam, nor is a Sunday evening movie with a family. The movie is not an entertainment. The movie takes you on a strange journey showing some rare but existing human feelings. The movie tells that though human can go old in his health but his emotions always remain young.
