VLC Released With New Interface And YouTube Support
The most popular open source media player team (VideoLan), have released latest version of VLC media player with an interface refresh for Linux, Windows and Unix. The release version of VLC media player is code-named as Grishenko. Video playback, new protocols, new codecs, new demuxers and many bug-fixes have been added to support more formats. VLC 0.9.2 displays album art, includes a metadata editor, scrobbles to Last.fm, and even includes YouTube video support (just give VLC the URL of the video you want to watch).
Improvements in interface over the old one include,
- Simplified settings and dialogs
- Media library integration
- Album art displaying and metadata editing
- Live activation of Video and audio filters
- Basic encoding profiles
- Multiple start modes (classic, enhanced and minimalist)
- System tray icon and minimizing
- Fullscreen controller

Procedure to play youtube videos…
- From top menu click on Media>>Open Network
- From youtube copy the video URL
- Paste that URL in the Address Field.
- and then click on play..
