Drop.io : Simple, Shareable Storage Page
Drop.io is a simple web service which creates a private storage space for it’s user, with no account hassle. The private space just created can then be shared with the people of your interest by passing just a simple url to them.
Along with file sharing service, it also help us to quickly put in your favorite links and text notes, all this in a single click and easy to use interface. Drop.io can help you transfer your files between two computer at different place without any trouble of logging in different email ids. Also you can set the limit as of amount of time you want your space should exist. At max you can have your unique space available till a year, but later just two weeks before the expiry date you can renew it within seconds.
You can organize your data in three different ways as shown in pics below.
1. Chronological View:
2. Media View:
3. Interactive View:
All those mentioned above, will give a decent Windows explorer look.
How Drop.io describe itself?
A drop is a ‘discrete’ chunk of space you can use to store and share anything (pictures, video, audio, docs, etc) privately, without accounts, personal registration, or email addresses. Our site is not searchable and not ‘networked’ – only people that know the URL of a drop can access it. You can create as many as you want and set things like a password, whether visitors can add to the drop, and how long you want it to exist.
Once created any drop can be accessed just typing its location in any browser drop.io/[adropname] - and you can also email in files and notes by emailing [adropname]@drop.io
For a note I would like to inform you that Drop.io is founded by Sam Lessin and Darshan Somashekar in early 2007. The team works primarily out of Manhattan but has been known to work basically from anywhere with a live internet connection. For more info visit Faq.
Your each 100MB space at drop.io will have a unique accessible url in pattern “http://drop.io/yourname”. Isn’t that too good? I have created one such space at url http://drop.io/oxygyan where you can too add your notes, links and files so common share or join your stuffs over there. Also if your create your own drop.io page then don’t forget to share with us using the comment box below.
