iPhone was recently launched and became very famous in the International market because of its uniqueness and technology. AT&T had a collaboration with Apple and the criteria assigned by Apple to iPhone users was to use it under AT&T network only and thats how the hardware and software of the phone was developed.

No software or hardware in this era has remained un-cracked and so with iPhone. It was cracked through hardware and software both. A 17 year old teen George Hotz of San Francisco cracked iPhone’s Software to work with other network too.

iPhone September’ 07 Update

The recent update by Apple in September ‘07 is defined with lot of new features for the same iPhone. The iPhone users can simply download it from Apple Site . iPhone users under AT&T can enjoy this update. What about non-AT&T users who have unlocked the iPhone to work under other networks? Sorry guys this update is not for you. If you have unlocked your iPhone then BEWARE don’t ever install this update because your iPhone will stop working, even your music player wont work. And would remain a Brick forever. I would better suggest, Its better to have an older version of software with iPhone in working condition than a newer version of software with your iPhone dumped in your showcase. Hindustan Times (30th September 2007) says “Your iPhone would be an iBrick if you install the update for your iPhone”.

iPhone with Update

I think Indians wont have any problem with this because iPhone is not officially released in India and as such there is no service provider for iPhone. Sources says that it would be officially released in India in year 2008. By that time Apple would have lot of update and would be available to people in India. Lets see do we need to crack the iPhone in India too.

Apple are making people fools by releasing update through which they want to eliminate phones without an AT&T service. Awake people, its now the work of Software Engineers to crack a ‘BREAK BY UPDATE’

I m unable to understand this type of monopoly. Does developers don’t know or what that every software or hardware in the world can be carcked? Like the complete software n hardware of iPhone which is cracked by 17 year old napster, this new way (to eliminate non-AT&T phones) is useless.

This is just to trouble people who cracked their iPhone….
My interpretation : Apple thinks the rest of the people should fear with their update locks and buy iPhone with AT&T connection only… or suffer with our future cracks…

Your blog is nice. I think you should add your blog at www.blogadda.com and let more people discover your blog. It’s a great place for Indian bloggers to be in and I am sure it would do wonders for your blog.

Hey man, this is a clear example of how the creations of some very intelligent people can be ‘Cracked’ by a layman.Companies never go for introduction of their products directly into the market. There’s always this BETA-phase wherein testing and debugging is done on a trial basis.

But,yes no one can ever guarantee a full-proof product with 0 % of bugs. :)
