Scene Caster - Virtual 3D Web World

SceneCaster is a community for 3D web, which helps you create your own 3D web or you can modify other’s creation to build a 3D web world of your own. Scene Caster [update] have made a debu earlier on 24th Sept 2007 with it’s demo product(in Beta phase).

With SceneCaster, users work with a browser plug-in and use drag-and-drop tools to create their own 3D space. Currently it supports Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Scene Caster would be of major advantage to creative professionals and those that enjoy media-sharing. It’s helps in making a fine note of social networking and the virtual web-based communities that are gaining a strong position in Internet culture. SceneCaster lets you add all sorts of images, effects and items to your virtual 3D space–it’s integrated with Google’s 3D Warehouse, which hosts a good amount of 3D images, both recognizable and imaginary.

“We think SceneCaster will be a new form of digital art online,” says Mark Zohar, founder of SceneCaster. “It’s not a virtual world, but rather a virtual experience.”

It will also integrate the e-commerce deals module. It means that users can look at someone’s virtual scene and then click over to purchase the real item online. For example, if you like the virtual chair in one scene, you can buy the actual chair from one of SceneCaster’s partners.

As scenes have an unlimited amount of possibilities for integration with other social networks and tools, I imagine it could be used for interior design, a “virtual” online home, or a new way to display your personal style.
