Hey guys,here goes my views on RamGopal Verma Ki AAG.First things first,this movie is not that bad.Going by the reviews people are giving,I thought this would be one of the custom shit that the RGV-Factory generates each week.Agreed, no match with the Original Cult,but definitely not very bad.
Yes,the characters change.Jay-Veeru become Raj-Hero.Basanti is Ghungroo.Other characters are:
Gabbar:Babban
Thakur:Narsimha
Samba/Kaliya:Tambe/(Dont remember the second name)
RamGadh:Mumbai
The movie starts with the train carrying Raj-Hero arriving in Mumbai.There’s this feeling of Nostalgia when the ‘Sholay Theme’ plays in the background.Incidents are pretty much congruent with the original Sholay.Well ‘Pyara’ Ramgadh now becomes some place in the Coastal Lands of Mumbai.
Where there was ‘Soormaa Bhopalee’ in sholay comes in a silly small time gangster played by Rajpal Yadav.He introduces Raj/Hero to a hood and they start working as his guards.
Narsimha the cop arrests Raj/Hero(RH) and takes in for interrogation.With their aid,he cracks down that hood for whom RH worked.But ‘Kaanoo Ke Lambe Haath’ dont spare RH & even they are arrested.
Blah-Blah-Blah the story goes on just as in Sholay.RH come to know that ‘Babban’ chopped off ‘Narsimha’s’ fingers(Read Thakur Ke Haath From Sholay) and murdered his family.Blah-Blah-Blah……
Things worth mentioning:
1)Good performance by the newcomer who played Raj.
2)The ‘Angrezon ke zamane ke Jailor’ Played by Asranee is missing.
3)Babban is no match for Gabbar Singh.Gabbar was cold blooded,Babban is sentimental.He loves his kid-brother and has a special soft-corner towards ‘Tambe’(???)
4)Abhishek Bacchan in special entry for the ‘Mehbooba Song’.
5)The ‘Sannataa Kyu Hai bhai’ Chacha is still there
6)Kuddos to RGV for not keeping the ‘Thakur Kills Gabbar’ scene in the same way as it was in Sholay.Man,the scene was so ridiculous with the Handless Thakur killing Gabbar with his kicks[:)]
7)The songs are the worst.Shitty lyrics and stupid music.
Well not a block-buster definitely,but yes, not the typical RGV-assembly line product either.Well,I must say,If you had a choice between Aag ,’Shootout At….’ some ‘Kabhi khushi Kabhi Ghum’ {Yawn} or say ‘Kabhi Alvida…’ crap,you must opt for ‘Aag’.

yeah man.am more of the adventurous nature.went for a wild hunt and look wat i got.RGV ki AAG….well actually i didnt have to bear it…i was engrossed in the movie sometimes.yes…the songs were the worst :(….thnk god theres always a way to avoid such songs(READ: CLOSE UR EYES and EARS)

people who know naught should speak not.The great RHAAMOO says sarkar is not exactly Godfather.Who will explain the resemblance of Micheal to Shankar.Who will explain resemblance of Shankars wife to Appolonia (Sarkar Raj,Godfather).

Similar entries of Sollozo(Godfather) and his Sarkar counterpart.
The climax for Sarkar,Sarkar Raj is no different from the Godfather series-multiple Murders,Vendettas being settled at a single instance of time.
Don Corleone(Godfather) and Sarkar have many ‘Influential’ friends.
