Play Contra,Mario etc. on your PC.
For those of you who are unaware of the term NES,the term stands for Nintendo Entertainment Systems.Well,NES was one of the big players in the gaming industry of the 80s and the 90s.

Basically the gaming paraphernalia comprised of three things—The Console+Joysticks and the Game-ROM also known as the ‘CARTRIDGE’.Consoles were basically CPU’s dedicated for gaming purposes.Anyone who possessed these things could play the games on their Television.

Now theres a good news for all of us.Developers all over have found ways to convert these Cartridges into PC readable Files. These files have an extension ‘.nes’ and are very small in size.An average ‘.nes’ file is of 100-200kbs.
Legally many NES files have restrictions on downloading. There’s a pending dispute between NES and the .nes file offering websites.
To be able to play the games using the ‘.nes’ files on your PC,you need an Emulator. Now emulator is basiclly a term coined for softwares(and hardware as well) which can emulate the basic requirements of the Console for a standard NES game.
There are many Emulators available on the net these days. Many are free of charge and are pretty good. One of my previous articles reviews one such emulator.Besides NESCAFE, one Emulator worth mentioning I found was ROCKNES.
