On 22 May 2007, I was traveling from New York to San Jose, CA with a flight change at Los Angeles, CA through United Airlines. I took the boarding pass for both the sector from New York itself. On the second sector (UA6519) from Los Angeles to San Jose a strange incident happened. I was seated at the allotted seat i.e. 11A. You can have a look at my boarding pass below:

A man asked me to confirm my seat because he was too allotted the same seat i.e. 11A. Have a look at his boarding pass below.

Boarding pass of Mr Rajaram Rao (United Airlines UA6519 –LAX - /> SJC)

Before calling the air hostess we confirmed if the date and the flight of both of us is correct. Some of the basic information we checked in our boarding pass were Date: May 22, Flight no.: UA6519 and Departure time: 4:48PM. Now we both had the same seat. We called the air hostess then and asked her to resolve this. Fortunately the 2 reserved emergency seats in the Flight Bombardier were not allotted, so I was shifted to that seat. The intention behind this is not how air hostess manages passengers but how inefficient the software is, which the airline company uses to give boarding pass and allot seat. Don’t know any problem behind the scene but can definitely say the current system is not proper and that too with a reputed airline company like United. Finally its computer who is making mistakes!!!
